How to choose a Therapist?
It is important to find someone that you feel you can trust and to be open with. It may be important to have an initial session with at least 3 therapists to see which one you feel most comfortable with. It is also important that your therapist is qualified, accredited, in supervision, committed to continuous professional development and has been DBS approved. I am happy to discuss all of these requirements in any initial sessions.
Why Weekly Sessions?
It has been found that meeting weekly is the optimal time to allow clients to retain and work with the issues they want to resolve. It is especially important in the beginning to meet weekly as the work begins to unfold. Change however does not happen week to week. There can be times when nothing seems to be happening and then suddenly a shift happens. It is important to seek re-assurance and discuss any thoughts or feelings that arise around change with your therapist.
How much will it cost?
I charge £70 for individuals and £75 for couples and adolescent work. I work weekdays and evenings. I work on Zoom. Investing in therapy is like gaining a qualification in self awareness it takes time and does cost money but is an asset you will have for the rest of your life and will impact all that you do.
